Kumusta na, ayos pa ba? Ang buhay natin…
For some reason, music had rested playing through my eardrums and lyrics had stopped coming out from my lips. No more humming, no more chanting, or even reciting the sound of poetry.
Hmmm…scrap that. That sounds so “as if” when actually, I consider some “music” to be noise even how nicely written they are. But so what, I do have my own mood of getting inclined to melody and non-melody, to symphony, to words of philosophy – disguised as a song or expressed plainly, to ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony.
Really now, I talk about music today because it is not all the time that I am reminded that some great songs go on playing even if I don’t hear them because of some songs disguised as music finding their way to my subconscious mind – then goes the annoying LSS (last song syndrome). And today is part of not all the time.
Dong Abay (of Yano, with his shirt shouting “Oo, ako yung kumanta ng Banal na Aso [Santong Kabayo]”) had posted on Multiply (via Pan Band Group) his eagerness to have a “one time big time concert” – Konsyerto ng Lipunang Pilipino. To quote, “I want it to be massive, spectacular, and unforgettable. It will be a night of wonderful music together with my musician friends.”
The challenge now is the funds. So he says, “I am looking for kind-hearted people/organizations/companies willing to finance/sponsor this once in a lifetime performance. This is what I envision…”
